Colman Domingo to Receive Montecito Award

Colman Domingo will receive the Montecito Award at the 40th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 14, 2025, in recognition of his acclaimed performance as Divine G in the film 'Sing Sing.' This honor comes shortly after Domingo won the Outstanding Lead Performance award at the Gotham Awards. SBIFF Executive Director Roger Durling praised Domingo as a remarkable talent across various mediums, emphasizing the impact of his work in 'Sing Sing.' Domingo, who was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Bayard Rustin in the film 'Rustin,' is also recognized for his roles in 'The Color Purple' and the HBO series 'Euphoria.' The festival, running from February 4-15, will feature screenings, filmmaker Q&As, and other events celebrating cinema.
