Dodgers designate Jason Heyward

Despite a memorable pinch-hit three-run homer in his last game against the Seattle Mariners, Heyward's performance this season has been lackluster, with a batting average of .208 and a .669 OPS against right-handed pitching. The Dodgers opted to retain Kevin Kiermaier and other utility players over Heyward, who has been a respected presence in the clubhouse but struggled for playing time as the season progressed.
