EU Urges Restraint Amid Lebanon Conflict

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has urgently called for the avoidance of any further military intervention in Lebanon, emphasizing that such actions would dramatically exacerbate the ongoing conflict. Following an emergency meeting of EU foreign ministers, Borrell highlighted the importance of guaranteeing the sovereignty of both Israel and Lebanon. Meanwhile, Israel is reportedly preparing for a ground invasion aimed at dismantling Hezbollah's capabilities, following the assassination of a key Hezbollah leader. The Israeli Defense Forces have already conducted limited operations across the border and plan to target Hezbollah assets, including smuggling tunnels. Despite international calls for a ceasefire, Israel continues to intensify its strikes, with Borrell expressing concern over the lack of effective diplomatic intervention from the U.S. to halt the violence.
