UK Government Plans 400 New Police Officers for North West

The UK government has announced a Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee aimed at restoring local policing across England and Wales, following a significant decline in visible patrols over the past decade. This initiative will see the recruitment of 13,000 new neighbourhood police officers by 2029, with funding of £200 million allocated to various police forces, including specific allocations for regions such as Humberside and the West Midlands. Each neighbourhood will have designated, contactable officers to enhance community engagement and tackle local issues like antisocial behavior. The plan includes a 72-hour response guarantee for inquiries and the introduction of dedicated antisocial behaviour leaders in each area.
