Multiple Infrastructure Projects Underway in Carlisle, Lennox Head, Santon

Carlisle is undergoing significant infrastructure improvements as part of Cumberland Council’s £100 million regeneration program, with the next phase of the Southern Gateway scheme set to commence on April 28 for eight weeks. This project will enhance the pedestrian crossing at English Street, upgrade traffic signals, and improve paving and crossings to create a more accessible city center. Additionally, construction has started on a much larger Newby West roundabout in Carlisle, with Peter Lane closed for about four months and further road closures planned. These efforts are supported by Government funding and aim to build on previous successful regeneration work in the city.
