Interchain Foundation Launches Cosmos EVM for Enhanced Blockchain Interoperability

The Interchain Foundation (ICF) has announced the open-sourcing of evmOS, now called Cosmos EVM, which aims to enhance interoperability between the Cosmos and Ethereum ecosystems. This initiative will allow over 200 application-specific blockchains within the Cosmos framework to integrate Ethereum-compatible smart contracts and tools without needing the complete Ethereum stack. The open-sourced Cosmos EVM, released under the Apache 2.0 license, supports key Ethereum functionalities such as JSON-RPC and ERC-20 tokens, facilitating seamless communication across chains.
