Ulster Rugby Signs Props Sam Crean, Rory McGuire

Ulster Rugby has signed two new props for the upcoming season: Sam Crean from Saracens and Rory McGuire from Leinster. Crean, a 24-year-old former England U20 player, primarily plays as a loosehead prop but can also cover hooker, and he had a brief loan stint with Ulster earlier in the season. McGuire, a 22-year-old tighthead prop who has made eight senior appearances for Leinster, previously played under Ulster coach Richie Murphy with the Ireland U20 Grand Slam-winning team in 2022. Ulster's general manager Bryn Cunningham highlighted both players as talented prospects who will add depth and competition to the squad. The signings come amid several player departures from Ulster, including John Cooney and Kieran Treadwell. The club expects both Crean and McGuire to push for more senior rugby opportunities as they develop under the coaching staff.
