Emil Wakim, a Bloomington native and stand-up comedian, has been announced as a new cast member for the 50th season of 'Saturday Night Live' (SNL), set to premiere on September 28. The season will see the departure of Chloe Troast, who confirmed she was not asked back, along with other cast members Punkie Johnson and Molly Kearney. Notably, Wakim, who has performed on 'The Tonight Show' and at the Just For Laughs festival, becomes the first cast member born in the 21st century. The upcoming season promises celebrations and high-profile guests, culminating in a special event on February 16, 2025, to mark the show's milestone. Additionally, former SNL cast member Maya Rudolph is returning to portray Kamala Harris in the lead-up to the presidential election.
