Morocco Reports Record 17.4 Million Tourists in 2024

Morocco achieved a record 17.4 million tourists in 2024, reflecting a 20% increase from the previous year, with Moroccans living abroad making up nearly half of the total arrivals. This milestone was reached two years ahead of the country's tourism target, with projections aiming for 26 million visitors by 2030 when Morocco co-hosts the World Cup with Spain and Portugal. The tourism sector contributes approximately 7% to Morocco's GDP, supporting job creation and generating foreign currency, with tourism revenue rising by 7.2% to a record 104 billion dirhams from January to November. Investments in modernizing airports, expanding air routes, and promoting local destinations have significantly enhanced the country's attractiveness to tourists.
