Yorkshire sells full Hundred stake for £100m

Yorkshire has made history by becoming the first county cricket club to sell its entire stake in a Hundred franchise, Northern Superchargers, to Sun Group, the owners of Sunrisers Hyderabad, for over £100 million. This sale allows Yorkshire to address its significant financial troubles, including approximately £15 million in debts, by securing around £40 million from the sale of its 51% stake and an additional share from the ECB's 49% ownership. The Sun Group gains complete control over the franchise, including all cricket operations and branding. This transaction marks a significant moment as they become the sixth of the eight franchises to be sold in the ECB's auction process, with total sales reaching around £466 million across multiple teams.
