Six Family Members Found Dead in Submerged Car in Kedah River

Six family members, including a husband, wife, and their four children aged six months to nine years, were found dead inside a submerged Proton Iswara car in Sungai Korok, Kedah, after being reported missing since July 5. The family had spent the night at a relative’s house in Taman Aman, Jitra, but failed to return to their home in Jerlun, prompting a missing persons report. Firefighters faced challenges in recovering the bodies, having to cut open the vehicle’s roof, and were able to retrieve four victims, with the remaining two believed to be the parents still inside the car. The husband, Mohd Azim Ezzat Ishak, 32, worked as a security guard and was last seen with his wife Nurul Hidayah Khalijah Razman Effendy, 31, and their children. Relatives expressed grief as the recovery operation continued, and authorities are investigating the cause of the incident. The discovery came after a dedicated search operation by the Jitra Fire and Rescue Station and local police.
