Dance Teacher Addresses Stabbing Tragedy in Southport

Leanne Lucas, a dance instructor, expressed her profound loss of faith in the world following a tragic knife attack during a Taylor Swift-themed class in Southport, where three young girls—Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar—were killed. Lucas, who sustained serious injuries while trying to protect the children, shared her feelings at a candlelit vigil coinciding with the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls. The attack has left the community feeling unsafe, leading to widespread riots across the UK, with nearly 2,000 arrests made. Despite the turmoil, Lucas noted an outpouring of support that has strengthened community bonds. She aims to use the girls' memories to inspire change and prevent future violence. Over £41,000 has been raised to support her recovery.
