L'Oréal Acquires 10% Stake in Galderma

L’Oréal has acquired a 10% stake in Galderma, a leader in dermatology and injectables, for an estimated $1.85 billion. This strategic investment aims to enhance L’Oréal's presence in the rapidly growing aesthetics market and build a 'scientific partnership' focused on innovative dermatological research and product development. Galderma, which generated $4 billion last year, will collaborate with L’Oréal on advanced technologies to combat skin aging. The deal, finalized with a consortium led by EQT and other investors, will not affect Galderma's Board of Directors. L’Oréal's recent investments reflect its commitment to expanding its Dermatological Beauty division, which has outpaced growth in other sectors. This move follows L’Oréal’s significant acquisition of the Aësop skincare brand last year, marking a robust strategy in beauty and skincare markets.
