Boston Legacy FC to Play 2026 at Gillette Stadium

Boston Legacy FC, the new NWSL expansion team, will play its entire 2026 inaugural season at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough due to ongoing delays in the $200 million redevelopment of White Stadium in Boston’s Franklin Park. The project, a partnership between the club, the City of Boston, and Boston Public Schools, has been delayed by legal challenges including a lawsuit and a recent appeal from local groups. The team will share Gillette Stadium with the New England Revolution and accommodate scheduling around seven FIFA World Cup matches planned for summer 2026. Attempts to use Boston University’s Nickerson Field or Harvard Stadium were rejected due to NWSL standards for field quality, capacity, and broadcasting needs. Boston Legacy FC is responsible for over half the renovation costs and will continue paying partial rent to the city during this period. The club remains committed to moving into White Stadium in 2027.
