Palo Alto Networks Releases QRNG Open API Framework
Palo Alto Networks has launched a Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) Open API framework, aimed at helping organizations prepare for potential threats from quantum computing. Developed in collaboration with six industry partners, the framework promotes interoperability across various platforms and allows organizations to build resilient QRNG-based systems. The QRNG technology utilizes quantum mechanics to generate truly random numbers, essential for secure cryptographic key creation. It is aligned with NIST's post-quantum cryptography standards, enhancing protection against future quantum-enabled attacks. The QRNG Open API is available on Palo Alto Networks' GitHub and will be integrated into their Next Generation Firewalls later this year. Rich Campagna, SVP of Product Management, emphasized that collaboration is crucial to achieving quantum safety across industries.
