Hattiesburg Man Charged in Shooting Death

On August 4, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Hattiesburg police responded to a shooting in the 600 block of Eastside Avenue, where they found 31-year-old Markaz Moye suffering from a gunshot wound. Moye was transported to a hospital but later pronounced dead. Police arrested 36-year-old Gary Christopher Rogers, charging him with first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. Rogers has been booked into the Forrest County Jail, and the investigation is ongoing.
