He passed away due to heart complications on Sunday evening, surrounded by family and friends. Newman's close friend, Matt Felker, who directed a Hulu docuseries about 'Baywatch,' confirmed the news. Newman was not only a television star but also a real-life lifeguard and a dedicated firefighter for 25 years. In his later years, he focused on raising awareness and funds for Parkinson's research through the Michael J. Fox Foundation. He shared in interviews that while the disease had become central to his life, it also offered him time for reflection and wisdom, which he wished to use to highlight the importance of finding a cure.
