Alonso, 20, reportedly distracted her teammates by socializing and wearing non-official attire, which led to complaints from officials. Upon her early departure, she was instructed to check into a hotel rather than stay in the Athletes' Village, a decision that reflects the committee's dissatisfaction with her behavior. During her time in Paris, she also visited Disneyland, further upsetting Olympic leadership who expected her to support her fellow athletes. Despite the controversy, Alonso expressed gratitude for her swimming career on social media. No official comment has been made by Alonso regarding her expulsion from the village.
