Joey King in Talks for Practical Magic 2

Joey King is in negotiations to join Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in Practical Magic 2, the sequel to the 1998 cult classic, scheduled for release on September 18, 2026. Directed by Susanne Bier, the film will feature Bullock and Kidman reprising their roles as witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, exploring themes of sisterhood, female empowerment, and the supernatural. King is reportedly set to play the daughter of one of the sisters, likely Kidman's character, who uncovers dark family secrets and her own magical powers, leading to a family crisis. The sequel draws from a later installment in Alice Hoffman’s book series and is set to begin filming in London in late summer 2025. The screenplay is co-written by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett, with Bullock and Kidman also producing. King is known for her roles in The Kissing Booth, The Act, and recently starred alongside Kidman in Netflix's A Family Affair.
