Jonathan Taylor rushes three touchdowns as Colts defeat Chargers 38-24
The Indianapolis Colts beat the Los Angeles Chargers 38-24 at SoFi Stadium as Jonathan Taylor rushed for three touchdowns (23, 8 and 19 yards) and continued his league-leading start, cementing his case as a frontrunner for Offensive Player of the Year. Daniel Jones added two touchdown passes (23-of-34, 288 yards) and the Colts converted key fourth downs and red-zone opportunities to build a 23-3 halftime lead. Justin Herbert threw for a career-high 420 yards but had two costly first-half interceptions and couldn’t overcome Indianapolis’ efficiency despite the Chargers outgaining the Colts and holding the ball longer. Taylor finished with 94 yards on 16 carries and three receptions for 39 yards (about 132 yards from scrimmage by other accounts) and scored his ninth rushing TD of the season, pushing the Colts to 6-1. Injuries and miscues hampered the Chargers, while the Colts’ balanced attack and opportunistic defense preserved a signature win on the road.
