While celebrating the Thai New Year, she consumed what she thought was whisky and coke from a bucket but later discovered she had been roaming the hotel without clothes after losing consciousness. Janet warned others about the dangers of local spirits, which are often improperly distilled, and advised tourists to stick to imported alcohol or bottled beer. She expressed sadness for the victims in Laos and disgust for those responsible for selling the dangerous drinks. Despite her harrowing experience, she continues to travel but has significantly reduced her alcohol consumption during her trips.
