Houston Woman Charged for Selling Newborn Baby

Houston resident Juniper Bryson, 21, faces felony charges after allegedly attempting to sell her newborn baby on Facebook for a minimum of $150. Bryson, who sought to avoid having her child placed in foster care, contacted prospective adoptive parents via a Facebook group and private messages, asking for compensation. The baby, born on September 24 and testing positive for drugs, was offered to multiple families, including a same-sex couple who withdrew after Bryson demanded additional payment. Bryson defended her actions by likening them to surrogacy, despite legal differences in Texas. Her actions were reported to authorities by concerned social media users, leading to her arrest. She is currently held on a $30,000 bond and is expected to appear in court soon.
