Chelsea in advanced talks for Bundesliga star Simons

Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign RB Leipzig playmaker Xavi Simons this summer, with negotiations reportedly progressing well, including personal terms. The 22-year-old Dutch attacking midfielder impressed last season with 10-11 goals and 7-8 assists across Bundesliga and other competitions, showcasing versatility and creative talent, which could bolster head coach Enzo Maresca’s attacking options. Chelsea's squad already features several attacking talents, including recent signings like Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, and the highly rated Estevao, while offloading players such as Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke. Meanwhile, Chelsea are looking to move winger Raheem Sterling, who has fallen out of favor and has a contract until 2027. German club Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus have shown interest but primarily on loan deals with Chelsea expected to cover part of Sterling's wages, complicating the transfer.
