Meanwhile, Gujarat's coastal Saurashtra region has also seen record-breaking rain, with districts like Devbhoomi Dwarka recording 1,422% excess rainfall, attributed to active weather systems in the area. Pune recorded its third-highest July rainfall in 66 years, with 114 mm in a single day, resulting in flooding and evacuations, while areas like Tamhini received up to 560 mm of rain. The IMD has warned of continuing heavy rains across these regions, with alerts remaining in place. Despite the heavy rainfall bringing relief to water storage levels in some areas, it has also caused significant disruptions and fatalities due to related incidents. As severe weather conditions persist, authorities are advising residents to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel.
