Israeli Airstrikes Kill Four in South, East Lebanon

Israeli airstrikes on southern and eastern Lebanon killed four people, targeting Hezbollah infrastructure used for producing and storing strategic weapons, including what Israel's defense minister described as the group's largest precision missile manufacturing site. These strikes, carried out in areas such as the Bekaa Valley and the Jezzine region, occurred despite a ceasefire agreement from November that also called for Israeli troop withdrawal, which has been only partially implemented. Israel has maintained military presence in five strategic locations and continues near-daily airstrikes, vowing to keep up pressure until Hezbollah is disarmed. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has expressed determination to disarm Hezbollah, aligning with U.S. pressure despite Hezbollah's claims that disarmament would serve Israeli interests. The conflict follows over a year of hostilities, including a two-month war last year that weakened Hezbollah but left it with part of its arsenal intact. Israel maintains its stance that any attempt by Hezbollah to rearm or threaten will be met with relentless military response.
