Taxi Injures 7 in Manhattan Christmas Crash

On Christmas Day, a taxi in Midtown Manhattan veered onto the sidewalk outside Macy's Herald Square, injuring seven pedestrians, including a 9-year-old boy. The driver, possibly experiencing a medical episode, lost control of the vehicle, which resulted in three individuals being hospitalized while four declined medical attention. The boy, a 41-year-old woman with a head injury, and a 49-year-old woman with a leg injury were among those taken to the hospital, all in stable condition. Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as bystanders helped free the trapped boy from under the taxi. The driver remained at the scene, and authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. Despite the serious nature of the crash, police confirmed that none of the injuries were life-threatening.
