Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson remains inactive for the second consecutive week due to a calf injury, paving the way for Justin Fields to start against the Denver Broncos. Fields led the Steelers to an 18-10 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, completing 17 of 23 passes for 156 yards and adding 57 rushing yards, although the offense did not score a touchdown. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin stated that the team has been preparing with Fields as the starting quarterback, and Wilson will serve as the emergency third quarterback. Denver's defense, which allowed 26 points in their loss to the Seattle Seahawks, is expected to be tested by Pittsburgh's running game. Wilson, who was released by the Broncos and joined the Steelers, is recovering but not yet fully ready to play. Fields is also slated to start against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3 while Wilson continues his recovery.
