Billie Joe Armstrong Joins The Go-Go's at Coachella

Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day surprised fans by joining The Go-Go's on stage at Coachella 2025 for a performance of their 1984 hit 'Head Over Heels'. This marked one of the first live performances of the original Go-Go's lineup in seven years. The band also paid tribute to late Blondie drummer Clem Burke during their set, who had played with them in the past. The surprise collaboration was hinted at on Green Day's Instagram prior to the performance. The Go-Go's, who emerged from the Los Angeles punk scene, incorporated Chappell Roan’s 'Hot to Go!' into their hit 'We Got The Beat' during the show. Coachella faced logistical challenges this year, including long entry lines reminiscent of the infamous Fyre Festival.
