Lucid Plans Mid-Size Electric SUV Launch by 2026

Lucid Motors is preparing to enter the mid-size electric SUV market with a new model set to launch in 2026, targeted at a competitive price of $50,000. This SUV will compete directly with Tesla's Model Y, Ford's Mustang Mach-E, and Hyundai's Ioniq 5. Lucid's preparations include building assembly lines and forming partnerships with U.S. suppliers to mitigate the impacts of tariffs. The company, supported by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, is also set to release a more affordable version of its Gravity SUV later this year, starting at $79,900. Alongside these models, the Gravity boasts a driving range of up to 450 miles and fast charging capabilities, aiming to appeal to a wider audience. Despite recent leadership changes, Lucid remains focused on doubling its production to about 20,000 units by 2025, fueled by anticipated strong demand.
