Man Arrested After Police Chase in San Diego

Daniel Santiago, 45, was arrested after allegedly threatening several people with a shotgun in El Cajon and leading police on a high-speed chase through San Diego that culminated in a standoff on the Coronado Bridge. The incident began shortly before 12:30 p.m. when Santiago approached victims in a pickup truck, accused them of following him, and brandished a shotgun. Following reports from the victims, police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Santiago's vehicle, which initially halted but then fled, reaching speeds of up to 80 mph. The pursuit ended on the Coronado Bridge, where police negotiated with Santiago for about 10 minutes before he surrendered without incident. He faces felony charges related to the assault and the police pursuit.
