Brian Williams Dies After Half-Marathon in Texas
Brian Williams, a former football standout at Bishop Dunne High School and Texas A&M, died at age 24 from severe heat stroke after completing a half-marathon in Irving, Texas. Williams was recognized as The Dallas Morning News’ Defensive Player of the Year in 2018 and played three seasons as a safety at Texas A&M. Tributes from family, friends, and coaches praised his humility, leadership, and positive influence. His brother Rawleigh Williams III and their mother shared emotional remembrances. Williams had recently graduated with an engineering degree and started working in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The Bishop Dunne community is considering establishing a scholarship in his honor.
