2024 PGA Tour Player of the Year Nominees Announced

The PGA Tour has announced the nominees for the 2024 Player of the Year, with top-ranked Scottie Scheffler, two-time major winner Xander Schauffele, and Rory McIlroy competing for the Jack Nicklaus Award. Scheffler had a remarkable season, winning seven titles including his second Masters and the FedEx Cup, while maintaining the lowest scoring average on tour and achieving 16 top-10 finishes without missing a cut. Schauffele captured his first two majors—the PGA Championship and The Open—while also achieving 15 top-10 finishes. McIlroy, despite winning two events and finishing ninth in the FedEx Cup, faced criticism regarding his nomination due to his performance compared to Scheffler and Schauffele. Rookie nominees include Nick Dunlap, who made history by winning as both an amateur and a professional in the same season, along with Matthieu Pavon, Jake Knapp, and Max Greyserman. Voting for the awards will close on December 4, with winners announced by the end of the year.
