NC State quarterback Grayson McCall was stretchered off the field during a game against Wake Forest after sustaining a severe hit that knocked his helmet off and briefly left him unconscious. The incident occurred during McCall's return game after missing two previous matches due to injury. Medical personnel, along with McCall's father, attended to him immediately; he was then transported to WakeMed for further evaluation. Despite the distressing scene, McCall was conscious enough to move his arms, point to the sky, and hug his parents as he was carted off the field. This marks another serious injury for McCall, whose previous concussion in 2023 ended his season at Coastal Carolina. Freshman CJ Bailey stepped in to replace McCall following the incident.
