Florida Man Indicted for $600K Fraud Targeting Haitian Investors

Marc Henry Menard, a Florida resident and former Mineola, New York resident, has been arrested and indicted for orchestrating an alleged investment fraud scheme that defrauded primarily Haitian investors across New York, Florida, and Georgia out of over $600,000. Menard falsely promised monthly returns of up to 20% through his company Marcotech LLC, despite not being registered to sell securities, and misappropriated funds for personal use including luxury vacations, high-end vehicles, and designer goods. Prosecutors revealed that Menard lost over $670,000 through risky day trading and used deceptive documents to convince investors of his success. He faces 24 counts including grand larceny, securities fraud, falsifying business records, and a scheme to defraud, with potential sentences up to 15 years. Attorney General Letitia James emphasized that Menard exploited hardworking Haitian New Yorkers and reassured the public that justice is being pursued. Menard has pleaded not guilty, and his attorney is preparing a defense as the case proceeds in Nassau County Supreme Court.
