Billy Joel Documentary Premieres on HBO July 18, 25

The upcoming two-part HBO Max documentary, Billy Joel: And So It Goes, offers an intimate look at the life and career of the legendary musician, premiering on July 18 and 25. The film covers Joel's musical journey from his classical music roots and early bands to his successful solo career, including personal struggles such as his affairs, near-fatal motorcycle accident, and attempts at suicide, which deeply influenced his songwriting. Featuring interviews with notable figures like Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, and P!nk, the documentary highlights Joel's impact on music and his reflections on life, with Joel himself stating that music saved his life. The documentary debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in June, which Joel missed due to a diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), leading to the cancellation of all his future tour dates.
