8-Year-Old Girl Injured on I-94 During Domestic Assault in Wayne County

A domestic assault between two male relatives inside a brown Ford SUV on Interstate 94 in Wayne County resulted in an 8-year-old girl being run over by the vehicle as she attempted to exit. The 51-year-old driver and the 36-year-old passenger began arguing, with the passenger assaulting the driver, who pulled over on the shoulder. During the incident, the suspect exited the vehicle while the child, his daughter, also tried to get out but fell, and her arm was run over by the SUV as it moved. The suspect fled with the child but later took her to a hospital for treatment, and both he and the injured driver were treated for their injuries. Michigan State Police arrested the suspect and continue to investigate, with the child now in the care of her grandmother and receiving medical attention at Children's Hospital of Michigan. Authorities urge anyone experiencing domestic violence to call 911 or the domestic violence hotline for help.
