UK Households Urged to Switch Energy Tariffs Amid Price Cap Rise

Martin Lewis, founder of MoneySavingExpert, has urged UK households to switch to fixed energy tariffs immediately to avoid higher bills, following Ofgem's announcement of a 6.4% increase in the price cap starting April 1. Meanwhile, the Climate Change Committee has reported that households could save about £1,400 annually by transitioning to low-carbon solutions like heat pumps and electric vehicles, despite the upfront costs associated with these changes. The committee emphasized the importance of government regulations, such as the planned ban on new gas boilers by 2035, to facilitate this transition.
