A Navi Mumbai-based doctor has been charged with culpable homicide following the death of a 25-year-old woman during an illegal abortion. The woman's paramour, Gajendra Dagadkhaire, and his friend Ravikant Gaikwad were arrested for allegedly disposing of the woman's body and her two children in the Indrayani river after the procedure. The woman was sent to Thane for the abortion without proper medical oversight, and the doctor failed to follow legal protocols, neglecting to report the death. Although charges have been filed against the doctor and an accomplice involved in arranging the abortion, no arrests have been made yet. The investigation began after the woman's mother reported her missing, and the bodies have yet to be recovered. This case highlights serious concerns regarding illegal abortion practices and the safety of women in similar situations.
