Houthis Confirm Coordination with Iran, Vow Support Against Israel

The Yemeni Houthi movement has openly declared its coordination with Iran in launching attacks against Israel amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran's campaign to prevent Israel's nuclear development, Operation Rising Lion. Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a senior Houthi political bureau member, confirmed the group's readiness to militarily support Iran against Israel, similar to its previous backing of Palestinians in Gaza. The Houthis have fired ballistic missiles and drones at Israel multiple times since the conflict escalated in June 2025, marking the first public acknowledgment of joint operations with Tehran by an Iran-aligned faction. While Iran has launched hundreds of missiles targeting Israeli civilian and military sites and Israeli forces have struck over 1,100 targets in Iran, other Iranian proxies like Hezbollah and Hamas have not actively joined the fight, with Iraqi militias largely limiting themselves to rhetoric and unclaimed actions. The Houthi attacks represent a unique active role within the Tehran-led Axis of Resistance, distinguishing them from other proxies who remain less directly engaged.
