Delaware Memorial Bridge Truck Crash Kills Driver, Body Recovered

On July 11, 2025, a bobtail tractor cab crashed off the Delaware Memorial Bridge into the Delaware River after crossing three lanes of southbound traffic and breaking through a concrete barrier. The driver, identified as 35-year-old Zair Murzakov from Brooklyn, New York, was trapped inside the cab underwater at a depth of approximately 20 feet. Recovery efforts by emergency crews, including the Coast Guard and local fire units, took about 36 hours, culminating in the extraction of Murzakov's body and the tractor cab on the morning of July 13. The tractor cab was registered to XFR8 LLC, a company based in West Chester Township, Ohio. The Delaware River and Bay Authority is investigating the crash as an accident, and the bridge remains structurally safe and fully operational. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
