7-Year-Old Boy Killed Crossing Gastonia Street
A 7-year-old boy was fatally struck by a Jeep Cherokee while crossing West Hudson Boulevard in Gastonia, North Carolina, with another child just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27. The boy was initially taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and later transferred to Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, where he died around 10 p.m. The 76-year-old female driver stopped after the accident and has not been charged as the investigation continues. Authorities have not identified the boy or stated whether the other child was injured. Police are seeking witnesses and urging anyone with information to come forward. The incident remains under active investigation by the Gastonia Police Department.
