Simon Ekpa Arrested in Finland on Terror Charges

Simon Ekpa, who claims to be the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, has been arrested in Finland along with four others on charges related to terrorism. The Finnish Central Criminal Police stated that Ekpa is suspected of public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent, while the other four individuals are accused of financing such activities. The arrests were made following a preliminary investigation into Ekpa's alleged promotion of violence against civilians and authorities in South-Eastern Nigeria through social media. The district court of Päijät-Häme has remanded Ekpa and the others in custody, with their detention hearings taking place on November 21. The investigation involved international cooperation, highlighting the seriousness of the allegations against Ekpa, who has been a controversial figure in Finland and Nigeria. His arrest follows a series of deadly attacks in Nigeria linked to the Eastern Security Network, which he reportedly oversees.
