Coventry City Nears £3.5m Signing of Aston Villa Defender Kesler-Hayden

Coventry City are set to sign right-back Kaine Kesler-Hayden from Aston Villa in a deal reportedly worth around £3.5 million, with the player expected to undergo a medical ahead of the transfer. Kesler-Hayden, 22, impressed during his loan spell at Preston North End last season, where he was named Player of the Season after making 51 appearances and contributing two goals and three assists. Several Championship clubs, including Southampton and Middlesbrough, were interested in the Premier League starlet, but Coventry have secured his signature, aiming to strengthen their squad under manager Frank Lampard. The transfer represents pure profit for Aston Villa, who had extended Kesler-Hayden's contract before his loan spells. Coventry, looking to build on last season’s play-off push, have also signed left-back Miguel Ángel Brau from Granada, as they prepare for another strong Championship campaign. Kesler-Hayden is expected to compete for the right-back position alongside Milan van Ewijk, who has been the club's only specialist there all season.
