Libyan National Oil Corporation Plans Libyan-US Energy Investment Forum
Libya's Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation is organizing the “Libya Experts Forum” to connect creative Libyan minds, including those abroad, with decision-makers to foster development and knowledge transfer. Concurrently, the National Oil Corporation (NOC) is preparing to host the first Libyan-American Energy Forum in partnership with the U.S. company Freedom First, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations and expand investment in Libya's oil and gas sector. The event will gather representatives from leading American energy firms, Libyan investors, and officials to promote sustainable energy cooperation and technical expertise localization. Libya, one of Africa's largest oil producers, has faced output disruptions due to political instability since 2014, but recent efforts, including a memorandum of understanding with ExxonMobil, indicate renewed interest in revitalizing the sector. While dates for both forums have not been finalized, these initiatives reflect Libya’s strategic push to leverage expertise and foreign investment for national development and energy sector growth.
