Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto announced the decision, citing the need for a 'new voice in the clubhouse' as the primary reason for the change. Former catcher Dan Wilson has been named as Servais' replacement, bringing over a decade of experience within the organization. The Mariners currently trail the Houston Astros by five games in the standings, struggling with a 20-33 record since mid-June. The team hopes Wilson can rejuvenate their performance during the final weeks of the season.
