Russia Launches Largest Air Attack on Kyiv, Hits Multiple Districts, Kills Two

Russia launched one of its largest air strikes on Kyiv in over three years, with debris and wreckage found across more than 40 locations in the capital, impacting seven to eight districts including Obolonskyi, Darnytskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi. The attacks involved over 300 drones, including Iranian-made Shahed drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles, resulting in at least two deaths and multiple injuries in Kyiv and Odesa, where a maternity hospital was also damaged but evacuated. Ukrainian officials reported that most Russian aerial targets were intercepted, while Ukraine responded with drone attacks on Russian territories. Kyiv city officials and President Volodymyr Zelensky characterized the strikes as among the largest to date and emphasized that Russia's attacks overshadow global efforts for peace. Emergency services remain active on the ground to manage fires and damage, and residents were urged to stay in shelters amid ongoing threats. These escalations come as Russia begins a summer offensive along the eastern front line, intensifying the conflict further.
