Two Killed Four Injured in Multiple Oakland Shootings Saturday
In Oakland early Saturday morning, a series of shootings left two people dead and at least four others injured across multiple locations including Broadway, San Pablo Avenue, and near Martin Luther King Jr. Way. The incidents began around 2:15 a.m. with a victim taken to the hospital in critical condition from Broadway, followed by a fatal shooting on San Pablo Avenue shortly after 3 a.m. Another victim was found on 18th Street and later died, while two others wounded near Martin Luther King Jr. Way were in stable condition. The shootings occurred shortly after the Oakland First Fridays festival, raising concerns about inadequate police staffing during large events, as noted by the Oakland Police Officers Association president. Police are investigating the circumstances and motives behind the shootings and have requested public assistance for information. These shootings mark Oakland's 46th and 47th homicide investigations this year, with no arrests reported yet.
