FBI's Most Wanted Fugitive Arrested in Florida Traffic Stop

Donald Eugene Fields II, a fugitive on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list, was arrested during a routine traffic stop in Lady Lake, Florida, by Sgt. Michelle Bilbrey. Fields, 60, was wanted for federal charges of child sex trafficking and state charges including statutory rape and child molestation, having evaded law enforcement since March 2022. The arrest occurred after Bilbrey discovered that the license plate on Fields' vehicle was not registered to it, prompting further investigation that confirmed his identity. Lady Lake Police Chief Steve Hunt and FBI Special Agent in Charge Ashley Johnson praised the proactive policing efforts that led to Fields' capture. Fields was added to the FBI's list in May 2023, making him the 531st fugitive on the list, with a significant number of apprehensions attributed to citizen cooperation. Following his arrest, Fields is set to face federal court proceedings in Florida.
