Nepal Rashtra Bank to Print New Banknotes

Nepal Rastra Bank is set to print new banknotes within a year that will feature a revised map incorporating disputed territories with India, specifically Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiyadhura. This decision follows a cabinet directive from former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and is part of a broader strategy to reaffirm Nepal's territorial claims. The bank has initiated the printing process, which is expected to be completed in six months to one year. Meanwhile, for the upcoming Dashain festival, the bank will issue only clean notes instead of new currency notes, aiming to control expenses and promote digital transactions. India has consistently contested Nepal's claims over these territories, asserting they belong within its borders.
