Astros Sweep Phillies 2-1, End 26-Inning Scoreless Streak
The Houston Astros secured a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, completing a series sweep with wins of 1-0, 2-0, and 2-1. Rookie Cam Smith delivered the game-winning RBI single in the eighth inning, marking his second hit of the game and contributing significantly to the Astros' fourth consecutive win. The Phillies had their 26-inning scoreless streak ended by a sacrifice fly from Brandon Marsh in the top of the eighth. Astros pitcher Hunter Brown maintained a league-best 1.74 ERA by pitching seven shutout innings with nine strikeouts, allowing no runners to reach second base. Despite strong pitching performances from Phillies starter Christopher Sanchez, who struck out 11 without issuing a walk, the Phillies were swept despite allowing only five runs in the series. Smith's performance included going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base, improving his season stats to a .271 batting average with five home runs and 28 RBIs.
